Hand-dug wells

Hand-dug Wells

Our approach to hand-dug wells involves meticulous excavation, utilizing the labor of local communities and locally available tools. This method ensures efficient and sustainable access to clean water sources.

Hand-dug wells are excavated using human labor, with the aid of locally available tools. They are usually 5-6ft (approx.1.6-2m) in diameter and have an average maximum depth of 120ft (approx. 40m)

From our experience, this kind of well can sustainably be used for activities with lower-scale water demand, contrary to the machine-drilled type. It can produce clean water and be used for irrigation of up-to 6acres of land, and basic household use.

We have several skilled teams that execute these works with high emphasis on occupational health and safety, quality, durability and sustainability

Over the years, Skylar Water and Energy Ltd has constructed countless wells across the country for households, individual homesteads, hotels, institutions of learning, farmers, among others.
